GPR Pavement Evaluation in Georgia

Infrasense was in Georgia completing ground penetrating radar (GPR) pavement thickness surveys on various project sections. With our vehicle-based systems we were able to collect data at the posted speed limit to detect pavement layer thicknesses, stripping in asphalt pavements, subsurface voiding, and other conditions. If you have an upcoming project where we can be…

Infrasense GPR Collection in Hawai’i

Earlier this year, Infrasense engineers travelled to the Hawaiian Islands for GPR data collection. Over 2,400 lane-miles of roadways on the islands of O’ahu, Hawai’i, Maui, Kaua’i, Lana’i, and Moloka’i underwent evaluation. Analysis of the GPR data showed pavement layer thicknesses and other underlying conditions. If you have an upcoming project where we can be…

Utility Mapping Boston, MA

Subsurface Utility Engineering (S.U.E.) requires working together to plan safe and efficient surveys, which often means overnight shifts to minimize interactions with traffic. In addition to traditional utility mapping tools, Infrasense can deploy vehicle-based ground penetrating radar as part of SUE projects to report other subsurface conditions including pavement layer thicknesses and moisture ingress/ voiding.

Bridge Deck Scanning in Missouri

Infrasense was in Missouri recently completing GPR, infrared, and visual scanning of bridge decks in the St. Louis area. Below are sample images in the early stages of processing. The final deliverables will present the infrared and visual imagery for the entire bridge deck with all areas of delamination, patching, and spalling mapped and quantified.

Concrete Structure Scanning in Western Massachussetts

Infrasense is out in Western Massachusetts recently completing a comprehensive evaluation of a bridge, including GPR, impact-echo, hammer sounding, and rebound hammer testing on all pier caps, columns, and abutments. The nondestructive testing data will be used to provide detailed maps and quantities of the substructure element conditions. If you have an upcoming project where…

Utility Mapping Dorchester, MA

Infrasense recently completed a subsurface utility engineering (SUE) project on Dorchester Avenue in Boston, MA. The initial phase of the project included reviewing existing site drawings (QL-D) and a site survey to identify the location of relevant site features (e.g., water valves, fire hydrants, manholes, and telephone poles (QL-C). The second phase of the project…
