Infrasense is a client-focused consulting firm that specializes in the nondestructive evaluation (NDE) of bridge decks, highway and airfield pavements, tunnels, parking structures, and other transportation facilities.

The company was founded in 1987 with support from National Science Foundation (NSF) Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) Grants. Since then, Infrasense has provided NDE consulting and testing services using ground penetrating radar, infrared thermography, seismic, vibrations, impact echo, ultrasonic testing, imaging, and image processing.

Infrasense has completed projects for clients in all fifty US States, Canada, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Our staff brings over 100 years of practical experience and our methods are supported and continually improved through ongoing research and development efforts. We provide our clients with highly accurate and actionable information, enabling cost-effective, network-level assessments, and project-specific maintenance and rehabilitation decisions.

Our Founder

Ken Maser, Ph.D., P.E.
is an internationally recognized authority in the field of nondestructive evaluation and subsurface condition investigations. He has developed and put into practice techniques for bridge and pavement evaluation and is the holder of two U.S. patents.

Ken has experience ranging from managing network-level pavement and bridge deck evaluations to serving as a consultant to the Strategic Highway Research Program (SHRP). He has conducted numerous evaluation studies to establish and validate the accuracy and reliability of bridge deck and pavement condition evaluations.

He is a frequent speaker at nondestructive evaluation and testing conferences and professional organizations, and has conducted personalized training sessions and workshops for state DOTs and private industry.
