Infrasense is anticipating significant continued growth in the northeast, especially with our subsurface utility engineering and geophysical services. Minimum Qualifications:- Performing routine engineering tasks; requiring knowledge and application of basic engineering principles under close supervision
- Conducting routine data collection, synthesis, and analysis using approved procedures
- Documenting project-related activities
- Preparing high quality deliverables that are on time, and within budget and scope; deliverables include but are not limited to: site drawings, condition maps, and reports
- Working in collaborative multidisciplinary teams to meet all assigned project deadlines
- Drafting technical sections of project communications and reports
- Contributing to development of technical procedures/methods
- Providing technical guidance and mentoring to team members to achieve overall project objectives on complex or unusual engineering projects
- Assisting with the development of scope of work and level of effort for projects and/or assignments within discipline
- Willing to travel (25%-50%), typically ~1 week per month between April – October
- Performing all work in accordance with company and client Health & Safety protocols
- Performing all work with a positive attitude
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds, walk for extended periods, work in all weather conditions, willing to work evenings/weekends when required, willing to travel for overnight and extended stay projects as required**
Preferred Qualifications:- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related engineering discipline
- Active driver’s license
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple deadlines
- Experience with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word required
- Passion for learning and a strong work ethic
Performance Expectations:- Master’s degree in civil engineering or related engineering discipline or 2+ years of experience
- Experience with nondestructive testing/evaluation methods (e.g., ground penetrating radar, infrared thermography, falling weight deflectometer, seismic, acoustic, sonic/ultrasonic, etc.)
- Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation
- Experience with programming (MATLAB, Python)
- Experience with LiDAR
- Experience with signal and image processing, and with GUI development
- Experience in Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) according to American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE)
- Proficient in the use of survey equipment such as total stations, data collectors, auto levels, and GPS units
- Experience with surveying projects that have included boundary, topographic, existing conditions, and utility surveys
- Experience working with State DOT projects
- Experience managing traffic control contractors

This is a paid internship. Compensation range: $20.00 – $26.00 per hour.
Minimum Qualifications:This internship follows a hybrid working model and requires 3 in-person days per week at our Cornelius, NC office.
- Performing routine engineering tasks requiring knowledge and application of basic engineering principles under close supervision.
- Assisting with the processing and analysis of large-scale NDE data sets (mainly infrared and ground penetrating radar) in custom Windows-based software using approved procedures.
- Assisting with routine NDE data collection and analysis using approved procedures.
- Tracking and documenting project-related activities.
- Assisting with the creation of high-quality deliverables including but not limited to site drawings, condition maps, and reports.
- Performing all work in accordance with company and client Health & Safety protocols.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds, walk for extended periods, work in all weather conditions, and be willing to travel for overnight projects as required. **
Preferred Qualifications:- Junior pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline.
- Active driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Experience with Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Google Maps required.
Performance Expectations:- Experience with nondestructive testing/evaluation methods (e.g., ground penetrating radar, infrared thermography, falling weight deflectometer, seismic, acoustic, sonic/ultrasonic, etc.).
- Some programming experience (i.e. Python, MATLAB) preferred but not required.
- Ability to interpret bridge plans and inspection reports.
Compensation / Benefits:- Willingness to travel 25% (typically one week per month).
