Infrasense had a great time this week at the Transportation Research Board (TRB) Annual Meeting, where we met with clients and colleagues, and attended several technical presentations and committee meetings. As is always the case with TRB, we left the meeting feeling inspired and excited for the future of the transportation industry!
Subsurface Utility Engineering (S.U.E.) requires working together to plan safe and efficient surveys, which often means overnight shifts to minimize interactions with traffic. In addition to traditional utility mapping tools, Infrasense can deploy vehicle-based ground penetrating radar as part of SUE projects to report other subsurface conditions including pavement layer thicknesses and moisture ingress/ voiding.
Infrasense was recently in Dallas, Texas completing GPR pavement thickness surveys on the City’s arterials and collectors. We are happy to be working as a subcontractor to IMS Infrastructure Management Services as part of a larger network-level survey of the City’s pavement conditions.
Infrasense was recently in the City of Toronto completing GPR pavement thickness surveys on over 2,800 kilometers of the City’s network. We are happy to be working as a subcontractor to International Cybernetics Company (ICC) as part of a larger multiyear network-level survey for the City.
Infrasense was in Missouri recently completing GPR, infrared, and visual scanning of bridge decks in the St. Louis area. Below are sample images in the early stages of processing. The final deliverables will present the infrared and visual imagery for the entire bridge deck with all areas of delamination, patching, and spalling mapped and quantified.
Infrasense is out in Western Massachusetts recently completing a comprehensive evaluation of a bridge, including GPR, impact-echo, hammer sounding, and rebound hammer testing on all pier caps, columns, and abutments.
