Rapid Automated Sounding (RAS)

One of the newest nondestructive testing technologies in use at Infrasense is our Rapid Automated Sounding (RAS) system. This system elevates the traditional method of detecting bridge deck delaminations by combining automated chain strikes, microphone arrays, and algorithmic audio analysis – delivering impressive accuracy and efficiency. RAS collects data at speeds of up to 20 mph, slashing collection times from hours to seconds, minimizing traffic disruptions and enabling scalable, network-wide assessments. By modernizing a decades-old standard, we’re enhancing safety, cutting costs, and redefining how infrastructure longevity is measured.
